Quote of the Day: July 26, 2016

“Those who are free of resentful thoughts surely find peace.” Buddha

Letting go of resentments is a large part of recovery.   Holding on impact relationships and mental, spiritual, and emotional health.  It feeds anger. It binds you to the past, to anger, to bitterness.   Letting go frees you from these chains that keep  you bound.

Like forgiveness, it is a process you choose every day.  Letting go is a matter of being willing and noticing when you are feeding resentment.  Jealousy and bitterness are two signs of resentment.  I find anger towards someone or something that has no reason a good indicator that I am holding on.

There is peace in letting go.  By releasing them, you prepare yourself for further growth.  The negative emotions clear.  It takes the focus off negativity and allows for peace.

Everyone has resentment.  Find yours and let it go.

Be well.
